They cleaned things to a level of clean we had never seen before (and my wife is a clean freak... she wanted to know what they used to get things so spotless!). They pulled appliances out and cleaned thoroughly even in places that nobody will ever see. The manager brought a fresh, warm loaf of bread from a local bakery for us to enjoy. When a shower head pipe broke during cleaning I thought we'd wind up wrestling over responsibility. Instead it was fixed better than before by the end of the day. The employees even went so far as to carefully arrange stuffed animals on our kids' beds, and other small but nice touches that make a room much nicer to walk into.
